Here are just a few of the ways in which we support global research.

ISI Web of Knowledge and EndNote Web are now available in Simplified Chinese. ISI Web of Knowledge delivers easy access to high quality scholarly information in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities, as well as search and analysis tools that enhance this content.  EndNote Web makes organizing and citing references a simple task so users at any level can concentrate on their content. The new user-friendly Simplified Chinese interface enables every step of using these solutions, from research and analysis to submission and publishing, to be carried out in the local language. http://isiwebofknowledge.com

The Chinese Science Citation Database is accessible on the ISI Web of Knowledge platform in both Simplified Chinese and English, and enables fully searchable access to more than 1.3 million records from over 1,000 of China's top scholarly publications. Users can also link from citations within the database to data within Web of Science .

Thomson Innovation has just launched a Japanese language interface, making it easier for Japanese-speaking professionals to accelerate their intellectual property research and analysis by accessing global patent data with robust analysis and collaboration tools. You can search the full text of Japanese records in Thomson Innovation—in English—and get the information you need to make informed decisions about your IP strategy (granted patents available from 2004, published patent applications from 2003). Over the last several years, nearly 50 per cent of all global patenting activity has been predominantly out of Japan. Thomson Reuters is the only information provider that offers machine-assisted English translations of Japanese full text patent data. English language translations of Chinese patent data (bibliographic data and abstracts from 1985, and all claims from July 2008 on) for comprehensive searching, are also available in Thomson Innovation. You can also search machine translations of all claims for Korean unexamined and examined applications from January 2008 forwards.

Prous Science Integrity has a Japanese-language interface, providing search and display fields and other features in Japanese—the content itself is in English. Users can choose the interface they prefer, and the system remembers this choice until it is manually changed. http://www.prous.com/

Timely Topics in Medicine, our medical education portal, offers an interface and content in Spanish, English and Japanese. Access to content is controlled by selecting your language, country and medical specialty. If you select a Japan or a Spanish-speaking country (even if you select English as the language), you are taken to an interface and content that is principally in Japanese or Spanish. For example, there are several versions of TTMed for urologists: one in English for the U.S. market, one in English for an international market, and one in Japanese. Versions in Spanish for Spain/LATAM and in Portuguese for Brazil due out soon. http://www.ttmed.com
