John is responsible for guiding current and future developments of various products including the Web of Science and the Web of Knowledge platform. Activities include creating business proposals, defining product requirements, directing market research, and coordinating all product development and release related issues.

He holds a B.Sc. (Agr.), an M.Sc. in Entomology, and a Master of Library and Information Science. He worked for a number of years in academia as an entomology instructor and researcher and has published in the areas of dragonfly behaviour and morphology, and economic entomology. In early 90's he worked as a Database Developer and Project Manager for the leading CD-ROM company in Canada and as a Systems Analyst with a large printing organization, responsible for the incorporation of a prototype document management system. John joined Thomson - ISI Customer Education in 1995 and a year later moved into Product Development where he spearheaded WoS, JCR, WCI, and numerous other projects.
